1929 2-litre Six Weymann Six-Window 'Riviera Regal' Saloon
The Weymann-Saloon as "Riviera" - model with the equipment variant "Regal", model year 1929.

Description 1929:
The Weymann system of body construction consists of building a "flexible" frame and coating it with a durable, weatherproof fabric. Its advantages lie in the fact that it makes it possible to produce a saloon body lighter than a metal-clad body at a lower price and without the risk of body noise. The reason for the latter advantage is that no two frame elements touch each other in the body frame; all connections are made by sturdy steel plates firmly bolted to each element. These plates reinforce an air space between them so that the frame elements can "bend" but not rub; therefore it is impossible for creaking noises to develop. However, this principle only applies to genuine Weymann bodies, such as those installed in Rover vehicles. The coating of the body consists of a special fabric that is tightly stretched over the frame and can withstand even the toughest loads. It is very easy to clean, since it does not require polishing as with a normal body and cannot be scratched if it is "chemically cleaned". Rover saloons with Weymann bodies (manufactured under license by the Rover Company) are available with four or six windows and with fixed or foldable roofs. There is virtually no difference in appearance and cost between the latter two, with the fixed roof model known as "Paris" and the retractable roof model known as "Riviera". The opening or closing of the "Riviera" roof takes only a few seconds, and in the open state there is no rattling at all. For those who enjoy the sun and the air, the "Riviera" is the ideal solution for their needs.

Weymann "Standard" Saloon Model
The upholstery is made of high-quality carriage fabric, comfortable and very durable. Artillery wheels are mounted on "standard" models, but wire wheels can be supplied for £10 extra. The available body colours are: Blue, brown, red or the fashionable black, which is accentuated by a chrome trim.

Weymann "Regal" Saloon Model
The models have 4 or 6 windows. Both types, with " Regal " features as shown, have the same price, or £395 for "Standard " features. The " Regal " models are upholstered with fine furniture fabrics and have wire wheels and the other features listed in the specifications. A spacious luggage rack is attached to the rear which folds down when not in use.
