By high-voltage magneto, driven by quiet chain from camshaft

Petrol supply by gravity from the 6-gallon (27.3 ltr) tank in the front bulkhead, with spare tap
Gearbox and Transmission
The dry plate clutch does not require lubrication
The transmission has three forward speeds and reverse, with central change lever
Direct drive in upper gear
Transmission by large diameter propeller shaft to the worm gear (with differential) on the rear axle
The torque module relieves the springs of all drive loads
Suspension
Semi-elliptic leaf springs front, quarter-elliptic leaf springs rear
All wheels, including the spare wheel, are equipped with Dunlop balloon tyres size 27 in x 4.4 in.
Brakes
The foot brake actuates all four wheels via bar connections with quick adjustment
The handbrake actuates a completely separate set of brake shoes on the rear wheels, resulting in a six-brake system
Steering
Worm and segment; very smooth-running and reliable
