The above image shows the ROVER 'Speed Pilot' with the 'Fairway' Saloon de Luxe - Body by Carbodies,
Model Year 1933.
This Model was developed by Carbodies, Holyhead Road, Coventry. |
 |
It meets the needs of a large number of drivers who want a vehicle that can reach high speeds and accelerate quickly, while at the same time being "family-friendly".
This model offers the most comfortable seating for four tall passengers, even with hats, although the overall height is only 5 ft (Note: 1.5 mtr) due to the very low chassis. An ideal combination of space, good looks and driving stability, especially at high speeds in curves and on treacherous road surfaces.
The sliding roof is the latest development; all doors are lockable and have retractable windows. Safety glass is used all around. The interior appears exceptionally luxuriously equipped. All wooden parts are made of walnut-root wood; of course, ashtrays, rear-view mirrors, a rear blind that can be operated by the driver, two windscreen wipers, practical storage compartments, a folding centre armrest on the rear seat - all details that you would expect from a high-quality vehicle. Long curved wings are combined with the running boards.
The rear luggage compartment has been newly developed; ordinary luggage can be stored behind the closed flap, while the largest luggage can be transported on the open flap. |
