The Sports Saloon on "Speed Pilot” - Chassis is made by Charlesworth Bodies (1931). Ltd., Much Park Street, Coventry.
The completely new chassis and the special high efficiency engine allow a greatly increased power output. The engine is fed by three carburettors, each of which is tilted to match the angle of the intake ducts. In addition there is a steeper camshaft. The maximum speed of the 'Sports Saloon' is 70 to 75 mph (rsp. 113 to 121 km/h) in fourth gear and 45 to 50 mph (rsp. 64 to 72 km/h) in third gear. Acceleration in elastic fourth gear is rapid, from 10 mph to 30 mph (rsp. 16 to 48 km/h) in just 11 4/5 seconds. | |||
